Terms of Service for Commissions

Ownership / How you can use your Commission

Commissioned artwork is for personal use only. Feel free to use the artwork as profile pictures, banners, or any social media. You may upload your commissioned artwork to social media/art sites as long as credit is given with any of my links (deviantArt, Linktree, Carrd, etc.)For commercial work, email [email protected] with the title “Commercial Work.”I own all rights to the artwork (unless otherwise discussed). I may upload commissioned artwork to any social media (with credit to the commissioner) or to my portfolio.By commissioning me, this means you have properly read, understand, and agree to the terms listed below and on the invoices.

What to Expect / The Process

There are multiple ways to contact me for a commission!

Please include reference photos for characters and/or scenes in your request! If you don’t have any reference photos, please be descriptive in your request. :)

Payment

Once I receive a commission request, I’ll reach out to discuss the details and to work out a final price with you. Then I’ll send you an invoice (Paypal or Stripe) for half the total cost of the commission.

Phase 1: After payment is received for 1st invoice

  1. I’ll send you regular progress pics, including thumbnail sketches, colored sketches, etc. (small resolution, but will send closeup pics as-needed)

  2. During this phase, please provide feedback to ensure you’re getting exactly the commission you want! Feel free to request as many edits as needed during this phase.

  3. We’ll hit a point where the sketch is fairly complete and I’ll make sure you’re happy with it. If you are, I’ll send you an invoice for the remaining amount.

Phase 2: After payment is received for 2nd invoice

  1. I’ll continue to send progress pics regularly.

  2. You can still request edits and changes during this phase, but major changes may result in additional fees (UNLESS I made a mistake that needs correcting – such as missing clothing items from a reference image, for example – these errors are always corrected for free!)

  3. Once the commission is complete, I’ll send you the digital full-res image (between 3000 x 5000 px) in whatever file format you prefer.

  4. No physical goods will be sent to you. These commissions are digital-only.

Timeframe

The time frame needed to complete a commission varies based on complexity and how many other people have requested commissions. When we discuss the commission details, I can quote you a better time frame, but expect a commission to take anywhere from a few days – 4-6 weeks.I usually only work on commissions Monday – Thursday.If you need a rush job, please let me know and we’ll see if something can be worked out!

Refunds

If you’re unhappy with your commission after paying for the first invoice, but before paying for the second invoice:

  • I will refund 100% of the first invoice – no questions asked!

If you’re unhappy with your commission after the second invoice is paid:

  • I’ll keep the payment for the first invoice, but will refund the second invoice 100% (you won’t receive the completed artwork)

Hardship Refunds

If you’re requesting a refund due to a financial hardship, reach out and let me know during any phase of the commission. I may refund the entire amount if you’re experiencing financial hardship. This is mostly based on the honor system, so please be honest!

  • Additional Characters: +$20/per

  • Full Background: +50% of total commission cost

Scenic

  • Fully shaded/painted in a scenic environment

  • Includes up to 2 characters

  • Additional Characters: +$20/per

  • More emphasis is placed on the environment as a whole as opposed to just the characters, who may be smaller in the frame
